Radisson Blu Plaza Phuket Panwa Beach, the first class and upper upscale brand of Carlson, continues its commitment to sustainable and healthy environment. For two consecutive years, the Radisson Blu Resort Phuket has received a Silver Certification due to its consistent environmental practices that have been recognized by EarthCheck; the world's leading sustainable travel and tourism certification organization.

The EarthCheck Program is widely regarded as the world's most scientifically rigorous, and is focused on maximizing operational efficiencies to minimize CO2e emissions, while supporting host communities. It looks at key environmental indicators such as energy and water consumption, total waste production as well as community commitment, to determine the level of performance.

Only those companies that can demonstrate operational practices that adhere to the highest environmental standards receive the much-coveted Sliver Certification

Another recognition, Smoke-Free Hotel Certification has been awarded by Green Leaf Foundation of Thailand. This is awarded to hotels who demonstrate its commitment of having a healthy environment by minimizing smoking for both its guests and employees. Smoke-Free Hotel is under the Non-Smoker's Health Protection Act B.E. 2535 (1992) and the Notification of Ministry Of Public Health (No.15) B.E. 2548 (2005) encouraging hotels to promote the total well-being of guests and employees. The hotel is now more than 65% smoke-free in guestrooms as well as in public areas.

"The management and staff of Radisson Blu Plaza Resort Phuket Panwa Beach are very proud to achieve the two recognitions which are EarthCheck Silver and Smoke-Free Hotel Certifications. We have been developing the sustainable travel and tourism since the hotel opening.
