Centara Hotels and Resorts commitment to sustainability is continuing to grow with the group currently having 10 properties participating in the EarthCheck Certified Program. The Groups long term partnership  with EarthCheck, the world's leading certifier of sustainable travel and tourism operators, has been expanded with the group recently conducting a tailored 'EarthCheck Coordinator Training Workshop" for all hotels and resorts participating in EarthCheck Certified program.

Facilitated by the EarthCheck Training Academy (ETA), the workshop aimed to up-skill all EarthCheck Coordinators and Training Managers and helped provide a deeper understanding of the most effective ways to embed sustainability best practice and policies across departments. The course included a mock audit, team training exercises and group discussions as well as insight into practical, cost effective sustainability solutions.

"If organisations are to survive and prosper in the modern world of rapid change, they need to be more flexible, faster-moving and faster-learning than before." says ETA's Josh Sattler, Manager, Sustainability Capacity Building "Their ability to do this rests upon the abilities of their workforce to have these characteristics - hence the value of training. If individuals are able to learn, develop and change, then so can the organisations. Providing training for employees not only helps them develop their skills and knowledge, but it is also motivational and a building block to organisational success."
